Dwarf Caves
Built by 3D artist and game developer José Tijerín, Dwarf Caves is a massive interconnected fantasy environment created to push the scale and technical limits of Marble.

The World
Inspired by classic dwarf fantasy worlds, the project combines dozens of connected cavern spaces into one continuous journey filled with hidden paths, colossal chambers, lava rivers, catacombs, and ancient structures.
- Panoramic illustrations transformed into explorable worlds
- Large-scale connected cave systems
- Custom sculpted environments and fantasy architecture
Each area was designed to evoke discovery and immersion while maintaining the visual cohesion of a single underground world.
How It Works
The environments begin as hand-crafted illustrations created in Clip Studio Paint and converted into 360° panoramas. Marble is then then used to transform and expand those images into explorable Gaussian splat environments.
Additional sculpting, refinement, and scene editing tools were used to extend spaces, blend environments together, and maintain continuity across the massive world layout.
Stack
- Marble for world generation and refinement
- Clip Studio Paint + Krita Diffusion for concept illustration
- 360 Image Creator for panoramic workflows
- Quick GS Editor, Splat Craft, Maya, ZBrush, and Substance Painter for editing and sculpting
What’s Next
- Larger connected fantasy environments
- More advanced stage refinement workflows
- Experimenting with new World Labs tools and generation systems
Additional artwork and behind-the-scenes process available through José Tijerín’s portfolio and social channels.
