Holonet ARC
Holonet ARC is an interactive experience by the Holonet team that follows a lifetime unfolding in a single real-world location overlooking Zagreb, Croatia.
The Experience
Inspired by a place connected to personal milestones across the team, the project explores how variations of the same 3D environment can create a sense of time passing.
- Experience one location across different seasons and times of day
- Move through changing moods and moments without leaving the space
- Seamlessly transition between multiple versions of the same Gaussian splat environment
How It Works
Starting from a single 360° image of the location, the team used Marble to create variations spanning different seasons, lighting conditions, moods, and imagined moments. These worlds are brought into Unity and blended together using Holonet's in-house Gaussian splat plugin, with additional effects like highlights and distortions.
This workflow made it possible to create variations that would otherwise require revisiting and capturing the location over the course of many months.
Stack
- Marble for world generation and environment variations
- Unity for the interactive experience
- Holonet's Gaussian splat Unity plugin for rendering and transitions
