Synth Splat
Built by Lorie Chen, Steph Ng, and Nicholas Pudjarminta, Synth Splat is an audio-reactive Gaussian splat visualizer that transforms live music into dynamic, explorable 3D worlds.
The Experience
Inspired by a DJ set Steph performed at a night market in Los Angeles, the project explores how generated 3D environments can become part of a live music performance.
- Each track is paired with a world generated to match its vibe
- Worlds react to music in realtime through shaders and lighting
- Environments crossfade as the DJ moves between tracks
How It Works
Before a set, Synth Splat analyzes the setlist and uses the Marble API to generate worlds that fit the mood of each track. During playback, realtime audio analysis drives shaders, lighting, and other visual effects, while the experience seamlessly transitions between worlds as songs change.
